Trust & safety screens

Four key moments: the house rules, checking an item before paying, reporting a scam, and the feedback gate before buying again.

House rules

Simple rules that keep 500k+ Somerset members safe. Break them and you're out.

RULE 1

See it. Test it. Then pay.

Items must be seen in person and shown working before any money changes hands.

RULE 2

No deposits. Ever.

Never ask for, pay or take a deposit to "hold" an item. Taking a deposit = permanent ban.

RULE 3

Report anything dodgy

Listings with multiple community reports are hidden until a moderator checks them.

How the safety rules work

Check before you pay: buyers confirm they've seen and tested the item before they can mark it as bought. That's what triggers the feedback request.
Feedback gate: buyers can't start another purchase until they've left feedback on the last one, so every sale gets reviewed.
Community reports: once a listing gets reports from several different members, it's hidden until a moderator reviews it.
Deposits: asking for or taking a deposit breaks the house rules. Confirmed cases lead to a permanent ban.
